I’ll make sure to get the money ready for the kids asking for a school dinner this day 🫣😂
Please check your child's hair for headlice. Current guidance shared with school is that we do NOT send letters informing parents/carers of headlice as this previously led to overtreatment. School has guidance on headlice and nits, sharing – when a member of school staff suspects that a child has head lice: * If the child has live lice or nits, the parents/carers will be informed, where possible by telephone and asked to treat their child after school. * Children with head lice or nits will not be identified to other children or parents/carers as having head lice to respect the child’s privacy. * Children will be allowed to return to school after treatment. * Parents/carers will not routinely be notified of headlice, as this has previously led to parents over treating their child/ren. Further information can be found on the school website. We also have produced a leaflet on the treatment of headlice and nits which can be found in school admin office area. … See MoreSee Less

It’s a shame you don’t send letters to remind some parents who don’t have Facebook just to check there children’s hair frequently as it’s not fair on the parents who do keep on top of it and treat there children’s hair every time, and definitely not fair when you get rid of them spending hours with a comb after treatment everytime then week after week treatment again cos no letters sent out, parents not checking ,poor bairn sat crying again yes anyone can get nits but a quick letter sent out to remind people wouldn’t hurt as teachers Arnt going to see everyone who’s got them are they?

As part of both Global Month of Volunteering (May) and National Great Outdoors Month (June), Amazon Darlington have teamed up with The Literacy Trust to get Children reading & active outdoors!
Amazon have donated in excess of 500 books for our teams to prepare (bag up and seal to protect from the elements) in May and then hide in South Park Darlington on the evening of June 22nd 2024. These will then be ready for primary school children from the local area to find, take home and enjoy the following morning (Sunday 23rd June).
Frequently Asked Questions:
Where will books be hidden? Books will not be hidden in areas where anyone could damage the park – please respect the park, foliage and planted areas at all times.
Will each child be guaranteed a Book? No – we will be hiding in excess of 500 books in the park and these will be on an entirely first come-first served basis – it is our hope that each child only takes one book home each so as to leave enough for everyone to find one.
What sort of books will there be to find? Amazon have teamed up with The Literacy Trust and have purchased a wide range of books covering all ages between 4 – 11. There will be something for everyone. … See MoreSee Less

Good afternoon,
I’ve had notification that there will be road works along Yarm Road that will impact where the school crossing patroller operates.
He currently operates at The Fairway / Yarm Road Junction, however the road works mean he will be moving his crossing site further along Yarm Road to the island near The Mead/Cobden Street crossroads for the duration of the works.
The works are due to start on Monday 22nd April and last for 2 weeks.
Kind regards
Miss Reed … See MoreSee Less
